Tissue holder / Bag accessories

Part of Bag making for me are the accessories.  Just to have my things organized and easy to find? Priceless.

In an earlier post we made the credit card / business card holder. See "Reap what you sew" on our blog page. I want to move on from there as the Holidays are approaching.  And I have been asked from many of you to do a tutorial on the tissue holder, to make for friends and family.  Some will make them for the upcoming craft shows.  Hope you do well !!!!   Below  you will find easy to follow pictures and and instructions, and  the  supplies you need to make these.  Get ready to Make it a great day !!!

Instructions:
1). Cut a piece of your focal fabric (top) 6 3/4" x 6"

2). Also cut a piece of liner fabric (bottom) 7 3/4" x 6"
I chose gold thread for this....
Then I used a light fusible interfacing to give the fabric more structure.

Now we assemble !  easy huh?  While your at it?  You can cut out lots of these at the same time, if you would like.  Remember !  They make great gifts.  Don't forget your child's  teachers, and co-workers too.:))

Take the smaller piece and line them up . Right sides together.  Along the 6" edge.  Sew a 1/4" seam.
now do this to the opposite side.  This will seem strange but it is correct.  Sew another 1/4" seam.

This is how it will look if done correctly :))

Turn right sides out and press open as you see below.

I folded in 1/2 to make a crease to help me find the middle.
Now I took both of the 6" edges and folded them in the middle, and pinned.  Again used a 1/4" seam on both sides.  Be sure to go over the edges that meet a couple of times to reinforce.  (see below)

I always zig zag the edges to keep the edges from fraying.  I like to keep things neat. :)
Now I like lil boxed corners.  You can skip this part if you want.  I just think it's that extra step that makes it look professional.    If you want to do this step.... I took a marker and measured in 1/4 " in from the seam side and the folded side...Cut it out and Pinned.  sewed a 1/4" and zig zag again.

Look !!! we made something really cool.... And just a personal note?... When I sell or give these away I always put a new tissue pack in.  That lil extra love goes a long way.

I hope you enjoyed this project.  Stay tuned and check back often.  I will post new things weekly, and please look up our Vicki Lee Bags /by Lynne Facebook Page.   And our You tube Channel.  As always Make it a great day. :))
